-Botanical Name: Lavandula angustifolia

-Process Method: Steam distilled

-Plant Part: Flowering tops

-Family:  Lamiaceae

-Origin: Bulgaria

-Main Properties:  Linalool: 30 %, Linalyl acetate: 30 %, Camphor: .19 %

-Color/Texture:  Thin, clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid.

-Aromatic Profile: Top note with a strong aroma. Lavender from Bulgaria has a rich floral scent that is somewhat fruiter and mellower with less of a champhoraceous scent.  This lavender smell is more like fresh lavender.

-Blends Well With: Bay, Bergamot, Chamomile, Citronella, Clary Sage, Geranium, Jasmine, Lemon, Mandarin, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Pine, Thyme, Rosemary, Rosewood and Ylang-ylang.

-Abstract: The Lavender plant is a woody evergreen shrub.  It grows up to 3 feet tall, with pale green, narrow linear leaves and violet blue flowers. The entire plant is covered with oil glands, which are in the star shaped hairs that cover the plant. Both the essential oil and the entire lavender plant has been used continuously for thousands of years. Lavender is native to the Mediterranean.  Differences in soil, altitude and temperature, precipitation and seasons contribute to subtle changes in the scent from one lot of Lavender to another.

-Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals. Contact with eyes should be avoided. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

-Store: in a cool dark area. Preferably in a dark glass bottle.  To prolong the life of your essential oils, store them in unopened bottles in the refrigerator.
